Some years back now I put my toes in the scoped handgun waters. It's still ongoing, to get used to such things. A 2X Leupold from a member here bought for a SBHH 44mag.. I'm still getting used to it, but progress. A younger friend that competed for the Army showed me some 2" 100yd groups from a rough bench set up at camp, with my loads. He then did 3-3.5" groups at 200yds with it. Potential, I need to work into. Then the 430JDJ came here for a forever home and a 2nd Leupold scope bought from another member here. It occurred to me after seeing mention of 2x-8x version seem to be the norm, and maybe what's in hand here some kinda variation, rarer ? So, per the title of thread, VX3 Handgun 2.5x-8x 32mm is etched into the gold ring. The windage turret is the usual low profile 1/4"-3/8" high, but the elevation turret is an inch plus ? If the member I bought from has further info, or anyone here has thoughts, opinions or info on whats bolted to my 430JDJ, share please. I am in NO way displeased with the scope, or the deal, or member.

Just a 2-8 that was send back or ordered with a turret. I’ve had 4x from them that were the same.

The gold ring etched, 2.5x-8x. ? Would they change the gold ring, front object ring too ? Just asking ..

The power adjust ring also says 2.5x-8x. Are people talkin of the 2x-8x scope, just failing to type the .5 ?

It’s a standard 2.5-8 that someone either sent back in for a new turret or had it ordered that way direct from Leupold. I have a couple I’ve considered sending back for a turret but hasn’t been on my important list 🤣 |

Thank you. Clear now. Gotta a Subaru sized pile of leaves to burn but too breazy at the moment. The upper Grand River here, pretty leaf choked. Frustrates the steelheaders downstream.

The custom shop is still closed since COVID, so the option to send one back for a turret change also seems to be off the table.
