Any one here have one, or more, an opinion ? I've got an itch to try their Hunter, with Magna-Cut and burlap Micarta grip panels. More than I've paid for a knife..so..

I like the designs. Needs a new proper sheath. Knife is good though.

Bula, White River Knives is about 35 minutes from my place, the knives are top notch, their kydex sheaths are better than most. The knives are shipped sharp and have awesome packaging. Best of all, they are a Family owned and run business with values that align with most folks on this forum. Buy with confidence, they stand behind their products. Steve

Thank you all. The Hunter is in my sights right now. Both of the Ursus have been considered too.

Update. The Hunter, with MagnaCut and and natural color burlap micarta grip panels has been ordered. It seems 2-3 years ago they came with a leather sheaths. I checked the "Accessories" part of the website later and saw they still sell the leather sheath, it and a couple of other small things may be ordered after the knife in hand.

So, in checking White River knives near daily to see when the unavailable, backorder status has been lifted on the Hunter knife, saw the handle and alloy options were now available in the Small Game knife. MagnaCut alloy and natural color burlap micarta handle. So I ordered that. In hand now and LIKE. In for a penny, in for 400 bucks, it seems. When the Hunter version is in hand, I'll order the leather sheaths, a couple Ulti-Clips and snap bands for options when using the Kydex sheaths.

Agree that White River makes good knives for the $$. I’m less a fan of handles that aren’t glued together, but that is easily remedied. As others have said, the kydex sheaths are better than most and the blades have good geometry for cutting. The Sendero Pack is an excellent example of a do all hunting knife.

The Hunter came. Now awaiting their leather sheaths for both knives, 3 ulti-clips and 3 snap straps. Packing options. The Hunter could benefit from a choil. The Small Game could benefit from jimping, being a knife for more delicate work and choking up may be a desired technique. Otherwise the fit and finish is spot on.
