It's absolutely magical in the 45 ACP/Auto Rim. It works like nothing else I've tried.
It's also through the roof in standard pressure 44 Special.
My next experiment will be with the 327 Federal. A small charge goes a long ways.

A small charge goes a long ways. Is your load with the Berry's Hybrid 230 a +P load, or are you a bit over +P? I just picked up a new mold (LBT 230-LFN) and want to see if I can top 1000fps with accuracy. I figure at some point me and a pound of Power Pistol will run into one another.... Edit to add: My apologies if I'm jumbling up the contents from multiple threads here. I generally view the forum via the "view recent posts" button. It makes the SingleActions experience much more like a Christmas gathering at my in-laws. All the conversations at once...

According to Brian Pearce's Data, it's a standard pressure load. If you'll PM me your cell #, I'll forward you the data I'm using...

I have that LBT 230gr mold and Power Pistol is partnership that will get you there, pressures are up there of course, a heavier recoil spring would be advised if you are going to run more than a couple mags through your gun at a time.

Thank you, Mr. Fowler. Plans for now include a Ruger Flattop convertible and most likely a FA M83, but your point is well taken. It doesn't seem that pressure is the biggest issue in the 1911 platform, rather it's slide velocity and all the attendant violence it does to the gun.

In either of those platforms your goal should be easy peasy. No the devils advocate in me asks what for though? Just put the 45 colt cylinder in the gun, shoot the same bullet crimped over the ogive (shot thousands of them this way) and run it up as hard as you like (within platform boundaries of course) without worrying about pushing anything hard...

Power Pistol is awesome! I bought enough for a lifetime. And don’t forget about 9mm. Sorry, I know it’s a revolver forum but I couldn’t not mention it also…

I just bought a New Taurus 9mm DA Revolver. A 6" with adjustable sights for actual hunting. I'll definitely try Power Pistol in it...

Power Pistol is fantastic in my 45 Colt. Any where from 8.0 to 10.0 gr in my Ruger Bisley with 250 to 260 gr bullets just works. Great powder
