I am looking for a 45 Colt chamber finish reamer to rent or buy.
I needed to take just a couple thousandths off the back of the cylinder to clear the recoil shield on my 1977 New Model Blackhawk. The process left just a small burr on one side of each of the cylinder chambers. Not wanting to just hawg at it with emery cloth or (gasp) a Dremel, I am looking for a good condition reamer. I literally only need it for the 6 holes of my cylinder and I am done. Before I buy a new one, I am checking to see if anyone has one they no longer need or want. Thanks for your time.

If nothing else you can rent one from 4D. I've used some of their stuff and it was all in good condition when it arrived.
Have you tried just using a deburring tool? Or putting a slight chamfer on it?

No. I am worried my hay hooks for hands will off center or otherwise bugger up the cylinder. I'm sure Ronnie has one but I would have to drive up to Houston to use it and I dont know when that would be. Plus the chamber holes are so close to the ratchet boss there isn't any wiggle room for a slightly larger diameter tool to get in there without rubbing and being cocked off center.

X101airborne, I have one here somewhere, it is a Linebaugh spec (.480 case diameter and .453 throat). If that would work for you, I can scrounge it up over the weekend. I would need it back though, as I still have a project or two, I will need it for. Steve

Sixguntech, that would work. I would only need it for a couple days so that shouldn't be a problem. Thank you. PM incoming.
