Here is a hatchet made by P.J.Tomes, an ABS Master Smith and Vietnam Vet and a knife I made about 20 years ago now. Both show their Wm. Scagel influence. I have always been attracted to knife and hatchet, or tomahawk or belt axe combos. P.J.Had a stroke almost a year ago now and is slowly regaining some strength.

Nice. My favorite throwing knife was made by P.J.

the hatchet was made for a left-handed person and I made the knife for me-right handed. P.J. Made it about 30 years ago-forged from 5160 steel.
You can tell it's left-handed by the way the crown stag is oriented versus the crown stag on the knife.

Nice pairing.
Concerning left/right handedness, Being right handed, I always liked the feel of a "left handed" stag crown in my right hand. It makes a nice stop for the bottom of of my hand. Also.. when worn on the belt, it doesn't dig into my side. I wear a belt knife on the left side, but in a right handed holster.

Your makers mark looks familiar. Do you ever sell in the makers section on bladeforums?
