I found a neat contender barrel for sale and picked it up. It is a blue 7” 357 magnum Bullberry. I dug arround in my parts box, and ordered a new scope mount and put a neat little rig together. The frame is a stainless G2 and the scope is a silver 2x leupold. all the others parts are a mix and match of stainless and blue with a rubber grip and wood forend.
Pop came with me to get it zeroed. It didn’t take long before it was good out to the 50 yard target. The old man decided that the scope on a handgun was amazing after he took his turn on the bench. He enjoyed it so much that I gave it to him. He has been shooting it every day since in preparation to shoot a deer. He hasn’t shot one a long time, but he has it on his mind to now! He has a feeder at 30 yards getting hammmered by deer right now so I believe the odds are in his favor.

Hopefully I’ll have a hero shot of him soon. If not I’ll take one of him and “Scraps”!
I did just find him the black rubber forend that matches the grip. Also shot it just to make sure nothing changed. Alls well!
I forgot to add that he just turned 80 on Oct,7th.

80 years old and still got the itch! That's awesome. Thank you for gifting the pistol to him and for sharing this story.

We Hit Harbor Freight pretty hard, and Academy, not so much. Then barbecue for lunch. Now he is in the eye doctor and I’m waiting in the truck napping with one eye open and another on my 2nd Amendment paper weight. I hate this town, but this is where our specialists are. Hopefully he feels like a sit in the morning!

I live just across the state line in Jefferson. I go to bass pro every now and then and a few restaurants around the area and always carry something in the pocket.

Sir, that was wise of you to have that pocket full. We get to Jefferson on occasion. Nice town. We have stayed at the cabins at the Busy B and eaten some good meals around the area. We love East Texas and could happily live there.
