z1r.... of archduke mainspring housings, the Pachmayr with rubber backing----which laps onto back of grip frame----is midway between flat and arched and is most comfortable to my hand. Also used a Pachmayr grip safety., likewise very comfortable. This Delta Elite made before Colt woke up to obsolescence of narrow-tang grip safeties. David Bradshaw

Thanks David. I hadn't thought about grips. Appreciate that tip!

Longshot wow. I've bagged on the Para long slide I had a lot, and justifiably so. I think I could have launched the bullets just as accurately with a good wrist braced slingshot. But speed wise.... IIRC I mostly played with AA#9 and Bluedot, it's what I had. I could get 180's into the low 12's... 1220-ish FPS and I didn't dare push it more, really swelled up fired cases gave me pause. I was always kind of unimpressed with the 10mm because of that. I shot my single shot DW Kodiak JUST A LITTLE bit today. (you know when you think you're doing something stupid, you're almost sure of it, yet you do it anyway? Driving away from home I thought "I don't think I have any magazines with me", but dang if I didn't keep going. And dang if I wasn't right. lol) So I shot slowly, at some 40 yard steel. Haven't done much shooting all year and very little pistol, so it made me slow down and not just waste ammo. Wanted to get just a little trigger time before hunting season. As I was packing up I remembered the Garmin and was curious what the bullets were doing. Loads are 180XTP's, with Longshot. Don't remember the load offhand, but these are probably 3/4 or more up the load scale, but not pushing them, you know, not on the hairy edge of max loads. I only did two. First one was 1382 fps. "Huh?" Second one was 1383 fps. "Wow". Okay, yeah, that's nothing to sneeze at. What a difference powder and better chamber/barrel tolerances make. Wow.
