SSK straight rifled .45-410 barrel

It never fails that whenever I have a custom gun made the gun company comes out with it in a factory gun. Ruger came out with a GP100 10mm after I had David Clements convert one to 10mm (I know there is no comparison to Clement’s’ gun but you get the point). I sent my 16” .45/410 to have it converted to straight rifling with an extended choke tube and now this comes out:

pacecars: HOW DOES YOUR STRAIGHT RIFLED BARREL WORK?

It has been great with the TSS loads. If I can get him in 40 yds or closer it should be a dead Turkey. It patterns more like a rifle than a shotgun. I am going to try it on some coons and squirrels with some lead 7 1/2 and lead 8 shot.

YESTERDAY HAUS OF ARMS HAD A STRAIGHT RIFLED 14" BARREL WITH CHOKE ON THEIR SITE, NOW THEY ONLY SHOW A 22 INCHER ? ? ?

I guess they went quick. I have not tried any .45 Colt in the straight rifling and never intended to when I had Schultz convert it. I may have to check just to see if there is any accuracy at all (choke out of course)

Thanks guys. I may have bought the last 14 insure. Looking forward to playing with this one. Really wish it came with a vent rib. What kind of site are you using on yours? Pace cars?

Currently I am using the bead up front and the blade rear. I am planning to put a dot sight with a rib mount. This is as it sits now

Thanks. I like that setup. The barrel coming from House of arms does not have a vent rib. Just a base to mount a scope or Red. Honestly, I wish they came with a vent rib because that's how my current 410 is set up and works really well for me.

If you can get a regular .45/410 barrel with a vent rib you can send it to Shultz Precision Rifles and have them convert it to straight rifling.
It was $250 for the conversion and $20 return shipping.

If anybody would happen to have an extra vent rib from a 14-in contender barrel, I would be very interested in acquiring one.
