You can view the auction HEREFor those interested, there may be a financial incentive (read: lower buyer's premium) if bidding directly through the auction house. I didn't check.

Grip fit is unbecoming of a Bowen.

Bet they swapped out the grips to keep the price down I see that a lot. When I bought a Clements .50 cal ROA I sent David an email with a pic of it to get some info on it and he called me and emphatically said the grips in the pic were not his and there was no way anything like them would ever leave his shop. Cracked me up. I told him I was pretty sure of that when I saw it

Bearskinner and I both bought FAs from Vogt Auction house and it was a nightmare. Additional costs for premium, shipping, handling, credit card fees etc. were ridiculous.
$2000 gun ended up costing almost $3K and took a month to get to my FFL.
They shipped each one (i Bought 2) in a 24"x 24"x 24" box......
JMO......
Nimrod shouldn't have a fluted cylinder....

Fluted cylinder with black powder chamfer. A bit more "custom" than an unfluted cylinder.

...Nimrod shouldn't have a fluted cylinder.... I sat in my office for a solid 20 minutes, just staring at the screen. I tried squinting. Closing one eye. Finally just gave in, realizing there are some guns that I could simply never love. THEN I listed it here...

I gave up, the 25% premium is a killer. The cylinder flutes didn't help either, shouldn't be on a Nimrod!

I tied the winning bid, which was a good deal, even after adding a few hundred for proper grips, but can't have em all I guess.

What was the winning bid? Don't have an account to see.
The fluted cylinder doesn't offend me, and this way you get to buy the grips you want instead of paying for what the prior owner wanted.
One could always have an unfluted 454 cylinder made, if the money was right.
The 5 shot cylinder was a bigger roadblock for me. Long debated here, I know, and a 5 shot 45 isn't wrong, but for my uses 6 shot oversized cylinder is more than enough gun.
