I've never handled Keith's grips but I've seen pictures. They look fantastic. And I can appreciate anyone who creates grips more of the profile of the Coke grips as opposed to the Queen "Fat Bottom Girls" inspired grips that S&W put on so many of their revolvers.

And I had the opportunity to handle a set of grips that Steven made. They were elegant and proportioned just right.

Unfortunately that article is a few years old I believe as Keith's no longer taking orders and it states they were three hundred bucks! Maybe Steve will tell us.

Keith was not taking orders last time I talked to him but if has been awhile. Not sure if it retirement of just closing the books to get caught up like Dustin has done.

Thanks for the appreciation. I was fun to research and write the story. I wanted to do it and proposed it to a couple of magazines before GUNS picked it up. Lee Jarret was great in sending me several pairs of original Roper grips to study and photograph. He offered to sell me one pair for $500, I only got paid $300 for the story. Now wish I had bought the grips...

The story is pretty much ancient history. I can't remember when it was published but it certainly isn't the current situation.

The story should be read in the context of learning about original and recreated Roper grips. I still have three pair of KB grips, K and N Frame Ropers I supplied the walnut, and these KB, K-Frame RB Combat style. I cherish them. I haven't been in contact with Keith for over a decade. Vary occasionally I see KB Roper grip come up for sale in the $300-600 range.
