I learned last night that Phil Spangenberger has passed away. I really enjoyed some of his writing.

It has been a bad year for the gun writers’ fraternity

Mike Venturino and Phil were two of my favorite "single-action" writers. The gun world has been diminished.

This is sad to hear. Phil used to participate in the Rose Parade and would stage on my street in front of my house. I chatted with him several times over the years as he waited to join the parade. RIP amigo.

Dang, sad to hear it. I mainly remember him from the American Rifleman videos which were rebranded Tails of the Gun videos.

years back, phil did a demonstration on how fast you could actually draw old guns and period holsters - it was illuminating!
RIP Phil!

Did Phil have any books? I know he wrote some articles, but I don't recall any books.

I met and got to visit with him at the CMSA World Championship shoot in Arizona in 2000. A true gentleman in every sence of the word. Rest in Peace, Sir
