Steroids suck

I have double pneumonia so the hospital has decided to give me steroids via iv and a nebulizer inhaler in addition to Albuterol inhaler. Feel like my skin is about to crawl off and dance a jig.

Then they tell me when I can't sleep that they want to give me something to help me sleep! Why? They wake me up every time I doze off to check something

That’s not near as bad as some things that can happen to you. No, you don’t want to know either. Just suck it up and get done with it and try to be good to your nurses and doctors, it a lot easier that way.

Albuteral makes my heart want to run away as well. I have asthma.

I'm home now. Just two nights. I feel better, but I'm really tired but still wired up. I'll be on Prednisone for two weeks and that stuff makes me irritated. The missus ( I guess I can call her little bore, 4'11' and draws her line at 357mag) hates when I take it.

When my mom did the required steroids she was a handful. That's a kind way of saying she was a red eyed monster.

That's stuff can make you have an insatiable appetite too. Steroids do suck but hopefully it's a short lived proposition to get you back between the guardrails.

Best wishes to "Little Bore," as care-giving is an under-appreciated stress, which even the care-giver often fails to realize. Keep an eye on her and do whatever you have to to make it up to her later.

Steroids can make your blood sugar go high.
Don't know if you got bit by the Diabetes bug along the way, but high blood sugar and diabetes can make your skin crawl.

Last time I took predizone for awhile (poison oak) my cheeks swolled up I looked like a squirrel with nuts in my mouth.

Y'all obviously have never met "little bore". Her previous name I gave her was "Killer Kryckett".

I'm kinda a big baby when I get sick. Her words of support are "quit acting like a big p*""y and listen to the doctor." I've had several heart attacks over the past few years, her advice,"Well stop having them." A 38sp round bounced back from the back stop when she was shooting, hitting me in the solar plexus. She said," It didn't even really break the skin and you get bruises at work all the time. I wonder if I could do it again and actually hit you twice in a row."
