rWt; Yes and we ain't tellin' nothin'....... :-) nonpcnrarn; The holster thing, wish I'd have thought of that........ Oh I did.......reread my post....... :-) Yah, but I'm too lazy to hold the pillows together. I figured I could just staple around the outline of the gun forming a holster out of the Scotch Brite pads.

WHY? And bugger the screw slots too? WHY?
That makes about as much sense as "stone washed" jeans.
I've got a couple old beat-up guns I can sell you - and I won't even charge extra for the broken stocks. Heck, I'll even wrap them in some old Taco Bell wrappers if you'd like.

Because for about $800 I can call Cimarron and order an antiqued 1860 Richards Transition Model .44Colt with antique yellow TruIvory grips for a fraction of what it would cost to buy an original. AND be able to safely shoot it.

WHY? And bugger the screw slots too? WHY? Because I've never really liked the look of the matte blue on a SA sixgun, just my preference. So I antiqued the finish, and I thought the screws were too "pretty" to go with the roughed-up finish. So, I buggered the screws a bit, and it looks better (as in, more natural) to me.

A sow's ear out of a silk purse, with just a hint of bubba.
I really like your gun, Mr. Boge.

Why, because I won't live long enough for a gun to look a hundred years old. As for stonewashed jeans, what about the jeans with holes in them already. New jeans, buckshot (do not shoot jeans while in the washing machine), a little bleach and voila....new trendy jeans. I blasted a pair of my son's Levis with a 12 g buckshot and birdshot plus a few 45s for good measure. You'd of thought he died and went to Heaven. All his friends wanted a pair and were willing to pay. Stupid me, I could have had a home business, but then again I never thought the pet rock would catch on either.

Nor the dryer either.I'm 6 years old, new washer/dryer, the first they had. 22 left in the pocket by Dear Ol Dad. Mom did not call him that when it went off.........

Well, I suppose it's art and something I'm beyond comprehending. I imagine it will make the gun more valuable as well - I know the old looking beat up furniture selling in some furniture stores nowadays cost more than the well fit, well finished, new looking stuff. Anyway, to each his own. Do you all do the same thing with your new pick-up trucks? Why don't you just lend it to jimmarch for a couple months? He'll "antique" it in no time (and has the pictures to prove it). ;D Gotta go now and break in some new "shink to fits."

I finally gave up with polished hardwood floors and just antiqued them because with 4 legged and 2 legged critters running amok I would have sanded them down to the subfloor in no time. Sorry, I know we started out talking about guns and I turned it into This Old House. Never did in a washer or dryer but I've helped friends with old computers. Those things were terminated with more extreme prejudice than a mother in law. People can also develop a deep resentment with copiers too.

Don't we have someone in the White House noted for sending a dead fish?
