Just slid the seat back, went to full recline and covered the truck windows for the night. Get up in the morning and pull in to the Linebaugh place for a couple days of working on guns, grips and good food. Plan is to learn the tips about making horn grips by working on the set for my own gun Dustin is about finished with. I also brought a couple WIP sets for him to go over and critique fir me. Ought to be a great couple of days before I head to CO to pick Strek up for his antelope hunt. Cut down through the northern part of Yellowstone on the drive today and saw bison everywhere, a nice herd of elk, a couple buck antelope being boys and even a mountain goat up in the cliffs. A good day for sure.

I’ll be in that country in a couple weeks, after yesterday’s 100* temps. I so look forward to cooler weather, be safe buddy.

Hope they are turning out ok. MLBLaw posted a picture of the most recent I finished in the 38-40 thread in the Gallery section. I am just waiting to get home to put the final touches on a set of pretty French walnut for an old model SBH for another member here. Once home I just need a few final coats on a set for on older client who is having Hamilton build a gun. Bowen sent me the mainframe and gripframe so I could get as good a fit as possible. Making a few in other words. Spending several days in Cody at Dustin’s home and shop was an education on steroids on gun and grip making!

We hunted on a big ranch about 26 miles north of Douglas. Lots of cattle, wind mills, uranium mines and antelope. Standing underneath one of those big windmills with that loud swoosh as the blade end whips overhead at over 150mph is flat creepy to me.
