Where do you even get a slide that length? It looks ridiculous I remember many, many years ago, Wilson Combat made a one-off 7.5" 1911. They welded pieces together to stretch the slide. I suspect that this esteemed individual did, also. |

I'm the biggest long slide fan that I know of and this slide is too long. I have to admit I'm curious about how the recoil spring/guide rod works. From the limited photos it looks like a GI style. Is the spring over a foot long?

Without digging into my visualization of such a long slide 1911, I’ll wager it approaches neither reliability nor accuracy of my Les Baer Super Tac, or any number of top performing 1911’s. And, to correct for trajectory on silhouettes, the Looong Slide will need a Mauser tangent rear sight! David Bradshaw |

The upside is it can legally take a stock without becoming an SBR. Instead of a Mauser tangent sight, just use the tangent sight and stock off a T series BHP. 😁

Videos like that are why I don't watch videos. He does review some good stuff but the videos are definitely a bit much. If he did it in a fashion it was a bit more conservative he probably would get no ranking on YouTube. |
