Maybe this is a better project for a Contender. Lots of old factory barrels cheap enough for some experimenting.

I cut a card wad for over the powder….lay the shot….lay an upside down gas check over the shot with a heavy roll crimp and a dab or super glue…..no issues yet With TSS? The tungsten is much harder than the barrel steel. Doesn't it damage your rifling in the bore riding down it bare like that? I dont use TSS, just regular lead shot. What are you gaining by using TSS?

What are you gaining by using TSS? TSS allows a smaller shot size which gives you more pellets per round. I am shooting 9.5 shot in my 28 gauge and 410 bore and the number of pellets that hit the intended target is amazing.

Ive been loading tss for my 410 contender 14” barrel for many years now. Did this when it first came out and there were no factory loads available (I’m thinking in the 10+year range???) Anyway…I’ve been fortunate enough to take 3-4 turkeys with it over the last several years.
