It is a 1971 vintage Colt detective special. A little bluing loss here and there but it will serve the purpose well. Ordered a Silver dollar pancake in black with the flower carving. I like the front sight. The last DS I had was a half moon. This one is half moon on the muzzle end but flat ceraited on the back end. a bit of nail polish will make it even better...tj

Don't be surprised if it shoots high. Like 6" at 7 yds and 12" at 15 yds. Some of the early shrouded barrel DSes front sights were too short. Colt solved the problem by squeezing the front sight and making them taller. Again I'm speaking of the shrouded barrel model. I think their first year out was 72? Easy fix if you have one of those early ones.
