Unfortunately this is my fall battery, as I’ll be stuck here at home for the next two months. It will be nice once it’s done!

I'm fortunate enough to be able to literally hunt deer off my back deck while drinking coffee in the morning if I wanted to. Ranges here a very short due to the thick woods we have in the South. I can barely imagine the long shots for deer some of you have to make. I only have to reach out when hunting groundhogs in the fields to around 150yds with the XP or Maximum.

Deer off your back porch having coffee............... Sounds like deer heaven... Good for you... A friend in Pennsylvania has a similar set up on his farm.....

My opening day trio- Still trying to score an elk with a handgun. Top: JRH BFR in .500 JRH, Middle: FA83 .475 LB, Bottom: FA97 .41 Mag (Recently acquired). I alternate carrying the top two although the FA83 has taken a lot of animals and I am most confident in it as far as accuracy + distance. The M97 is new and needs to draws it's first blood. The damn Grizzlies have moved into my area in north-central Idaho (Elk City) so now I carry at least one of these while I am tromping through the woods. I will carry the big bores until elk season closes, then I'll carry the .41 for bear protection and an opportunity for a white tail for the rest of the seasons (Nov 20th). Good luck to everyone on their openers! Opening Day trio by WARDOG RENO, on Flickr

WARDOG, If I had one of those nice guns I'd walk up to a Grizzly & slap him in the mouth just to get the fight started Dick
