Short cylinder in 41 mag mod 97. Now deep seat 220 gr to fit or use 41 special brass so you can use crimp groove?

Or get a custom mold the way you want it so you can use mag brass and crimp it in the groove.
I use the Keith bullet in 357mag. So I trimmed my brass enough to fit my shortest cylinder (OM Blackhawk) and crimp in the groove. Still seating out farther than crimped over the shoulder, so more powder space. All my brass is trimmed to the same length, so no extra brass sorting required. And all my guns like that bullet on H-110. Problems solved.

Gotcha, these 220’s were for a single shot , to no worries! Figure I try them in the 97 ,too long . Gotta measure the overall to see if trimming the mag brass will get me to or close to, special length. If so I have plenty of special cases.

I would measure what the total length would be deep seating in Mag brass and seating in special brass. If you are going for max velocity, then choose the longer option as it will give you more internal case capacity to work with. If you are looking for a more sedate load, the special brass might be the way to go.
If you need me to run anything through Quickload for the deep seated 220 in mag brass, just post the bullet and seated length details and your desired powder. Need the barrel length also.
