Went on a little juant today to Freedom Arms to check on a handgun, when you leave Soda Springs, Idaho there's not much out there except the highway & lots of mountains all the way to Freedom, Wyoming. 70 miles of beautiful, wild country, a few farm houses along the way, lots of cattle grazing, also a few wild critters. Spotted this cow moose on an open side hill, she probably had a calf stashed in the brush. I hammered a few ground squirrels before dark using the 32 maggie & the Lipseys 44 special. I sure love me new Barranti, Hank Sloan holster, the cant is perfect for the 44, it rides the hip like a credit card in my wallet. Had to take a better close up of the Hank Sloan style holster, Mike also made the belt & a nifty cartridge holder (dang it! left it home!) Thats a badger track on the holster....thanks Mike! Three neat old buildings, a bunk house, cook shack & a small barn, long abandoned & forgotten. Hope you enjoyed the "ride", Dick

sixshot, Great pics. I've been on that stretch of road several times. We always hang out at the Grays Lake area and enjoy the birds and other critters.
Thanks.

That drive through the Grey's Lake area is always beautiful (unless the blowing snow obscures the view)! The road passes near Caribou Mountain and the sight of the old mining town, Caribou City. (The Lonesome Dove TV series focused on Caribou City in one episode.) Here's a view of Caribou Mountain taken from 10,000 ft. Stewart Peak in the Salt River Range. Carl PS The skiing down off the summit was awesome!
