Top of that barrel doesn't transition to the frame very well. Hope it's a picture angle that's makes it look like that.

looks like a dandy little trail/pack gun. bet it would look even better with a pair of roper style stocks. shame they didn’t add those like they did the GP100. I agree but somebody’s gotta do it!

Dang , how come not in Stainless like a good trail/packin gun ought to be? Sadly, it seems to still have the goofy tapered cylinder thing going on. Guess that's here to stay.

I find this Gun interesting but,,,, I’m in the Stainless boat too. I have thought about chopping ~1” off and a good portion of the lug, then going with a pinned big dot front sight. The 4.2” barrel has a better, fitting, trimmed & ribbed down the top, IMO. ,,, Maybe even slab side the remainder of the barrel. I do like the profile of the 3” barrel.

Grip makers simply doesn't seem to understand that all SP101s aren't necessarily going to be concealment guns.If they did understand this, we might even get full-length square butt Roper grips like GP100 did.I had to order a set of rosewood Hogues without finger grooves to tide me over until I can find something better. I expect them to be too small in diameter for me, and they have the same profile as the rubber grips shown above.

I was able to see it before it was released at Snub Roundup. I think it's a great little center-fire kit gun.

I've been hoping Ruger would do one like this in .327 ever since I first saw the .357 version a couple of years ago. Now I've got one inbound to my federally licensed enabler. I'll post initial impressions once it arrives.

I did take a chance and ordered Hogue wood grips for my SP101. The faux "Rosewood" grips were discounted on Gunbroker so I bet $60.00, and rolled them dice . I am pleasantly surprised by my purchase, I ordered a set without finger grooves and they fit me really well. I'd rather have been able to get them square-butted too, but it was not to be so banana grips it is. For my hands, Hogue got the palm swells just about perfect, and the grip angle is correct for me. Maybe now I can stop my whining!
