Excellent Grab!!! I have a 45 ACP for my FA97 454 Casull 7.5". It is a lot of gun for the ACP. But, no better platform for experimenters.
I also had my Counterbored for the rim of the 45 Auto Rim. It's a true eye opener...

Are you talking about a model 83 having an extra 45 acp cylinder? Can't imagine a model 97 in 454 Casull ever being produced. OR are you saying you have both and used the model 97 45 acp cylinder in the model 83 454 Casull revolver?

I know many people do not like the recoil of a .454 Casull, but this purchase came with all the options and all 4 , 45 caliber cylinders. Yes it’s a lot of gun for .45ACP, but it’s always fun to acquire a new toy, especially at a very reasonable purchase price. I plan on loading for each, just to be able to try each caliber. I especially like the Serial number. You're right, I have a 5 shot BFR in .454 which will never see anything but hot .45 Colt loads. Colt loads were the main reason I bought it as there's enough pain potential in other boomers I have :-)

This revolver came scoped, but I already have my long barreled, well worn scoped FA83, in 454, ( the Death Dealer) that pretty much only sees full power loads as my primary hunting revolver. It’s been all over the World with me. This new octagon 83 will be a large belt gun, with the availability to shoot any of the .45’s. I’ll pull the scope and install the rear sight.

I do not have pin gauges but I’ll bet the gun will shoot better in any caliber cylinder I use, than I can hold.

BEARSKINNER: I THINK ENCORE64 WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE REAR END OF THE 45 COLT CYLINDER (THE CHAMBERS) AND NOT THE FRONT END's THROAT DIMESIOINS.

The good thing is, I don’t think the gun has ever been shot, so it’s at least only had a few rounds thru it.

That'd be a good one to cut down to 5" and they'll do it cheap and quick at the FA shop.

I could see that ACP cylinder really putting some 45 Supers down range. A 235gr bullet at 1100fps is a real wonder on our little Southern whitetail
