How would be the best way to DIY the finish of a Stainless Vaquero to give it a more Satin finish. Seems like I read once about using a Scotch pad of some sort. I really do not care for the shiny finish and would like to subdue it a bit. Thanks.

The brushed finish from Ruger IIRC is grey 3M scratch pads
FA is a little more coarse with the maroon 3M pads
White is finer than either, but would dull things a little
Beyond that, you could send the gun off for a fine blasting like the Vapor Hone finish, which I have on one SBH and actually like pretty well.

Freedom Arms is a 220 grit finish followed by a maroon 3M pad to blend per FA. I did the same on a Pimp shiney busvaquero in stainless but took it to fresh 330 prior to the maroon pad. Pretty dull.
If I could ge. PM me a # and I'll txt.t on ic sized right I'd post.
I also like fine bead blast at lower pressure/longer distance.
