Severely spoiled by the S&W DX front sight and Ruger's similar front sight. Hate hammering sights into dovetails. More fun than dropping tables on your foot.  |

It’s a Novak dovetail. So all those 1911 sights fit….tritium, FO, bead…

I turned down a Redhawk this morning when I saw that front sight - not even centered in the slot but centered to the top rib serrations. And, a bbl/cylinder gap that you could probably pass a dime through. Not too crazy about the paint or sticker they're using instead of the red orange insert on that front sight either. Otherwise, the fit and finish was pretty good. As scarce as they've been around here, I may try to beat that price down a bit and buy it and just send it in to Ruger.

I bought one several years ago.
With real 45 Colt Ruger loads I shoot in my Blackhawks and Vaqueros the round butt is not cool.
Traded it for a normal 45 Redhawk.

Have the 4.25" 44 mag round butt has the quick change interchangable sight. mine came with a fiber optic sight, got the ruger red insert ramp to replace it. With the loads i run, the recoil was brutal with the round butt. i opted for the big pachmayer grips- ugly but effective.
