Any idea why Colt went with three vents on blued 4.25" Pythons vs. the two on the SS version?  Oddly enough, I've seen a few distributor photos where the blued 4.25" has two vents (but none from actual production). I already have a stainless 4.25", so I'm not in the market for a blued Python. I kind of like the three slots, maybe it's just the lighting, the fitting of the side plate and polishing are what are turning me off in that picture.

Agreed, 3 vents look odd on the 4".
The 6" version is correct, but I don't like how long they look.
One day I want one of the 5" ones, stainless of blued doesn't matter.

Oh come on Lee. You know the reason. In the sun a black colored gun picks up heat faster than a reflective silver gun. The blue gun needs the extra vents for cooling.  LOL. God Bless, Marc |

Looks like it was a longer barrel gun someone lopped off. They should have stuck with 2.

Maybe to make sure no one gets dooped into thinking it's an original online and getting roorooed?... I thought of that too, but the 6" version has the normal amount of vents. There's also the QR code on the side of the frame now as well as some small geometric changes. |

It's a subjective thing I guess, I don't find the 3 vent configuration unattractive. Certainly less objectionable than the QR code plastered on the side.

I got to fondle one of these at a gun show this weekend.
I rather liked it. Looked top quality like all the CZ/Colts.

No idea on the 2 vs 3 thing but in person these blued Colts are gorgeous! Local Sheels has several. Very tempting.
