Does any one here have or have held the Ron Powers 2 pc. Colt style grip frame made for Rugers. I have a 44 Mag 50th Anniversary that I am thinking of putting a brass one on. I have never held one and would like a little information on them before ordering one.

It's basically the same size/shape as what you now have on your .44 except it'll handle "one piece" grips.

what Carl said....
They were copied originally from the Colt SAA grip frame. The feel won't be enough different to notice from your XR-3 grip frame, but if you want brass or one piece grips they are the way to go.

My goal was to achive a brass frame and one piece grips. I was also wondering about how well things like the screw holes and metal to metal fit faired. I understand that the outside contuors need to be matched and polished.

Holes match up just fine. Ron says this is much easier to do than with a one piece frame.
Yes it will be "oversized" and has to be fit to your frame as well as being polished. This allows you to get it just right.
You will definitely be able to put one piece "handles" on it with the Power grip frame.
Are you getting the frame direct from Ron or from Brownell's?

Brownells only has 4140 Old Model frames I'll look around but it looks like I'll have to get it from Grand Masters LLC.
