New family member on the way

Last fall I lost my once-in-a-lifetime dog. I've not been actively searching however my wife has decided it's time. She ran across a litter and It looks like we have this guy coming. I'm very picky when it comes to getting a dog. Some people pick them purely based on looks, color, availability, etc. My last dog I referred to as a lot of colorful names but I would do anything to get him back. He had tons of personality and from what I've seen out of this one so far he may be another one with personality. Here's to some crossed fingers.

I do not recall, from before, and do not recognize from a pup, what breed  ? Just showed my wife the pic of the pup above. The name Scout, just fell outta her mouth.

It's an American bully and it's a Merle color. When they have these Merle colored pups they can have all different colors and this litter had all different colors. And as much as I love very specific colors I'm more about the personality and attitude. I've owned both female and male dogs. And I've gotten to the point where I prefer a male dog. I like both but the males tend to have a certain type of personality. We got to see a video of this one and he seems like he's got some sass and attitude to him. And that's what I wanted. I've owned dogs that are overthinkers and sensitive. As for the name, I am leaning towards some kind of name that ties back to a famous/important Western figure, trapper, settler, Montanan, and maybe even an American Indian. It's all new at this point and I don't know yet. Usually as you said it just comes to you. The last one was named Ozzy. We spent a week trying to figure out a name and we didn't like any of them. My wife happened to pick up a random magazine that had been delivered to our house. The magazine had Ozzy Osbourne on the cover. She said the name Ozzy and the puppy looked up at her like that was his name. So it stuck. We have weird stories like that for every one of the dogs we've owned.

He looks like Bridger could fit. I like that idea you have for names. Our pit pointer mix was a pound puppy and rowdy fit for his name. We enjoy bully breeds also but it is really up to the dog if they fit for us. But we keep the dumb ones anyway sometimes the light turns on for them later than others.

My son got a border collie mix a few years ago. When he went to pick the pup from the litter, there were 5 puppies all excited running around and wanting his attention. He looked around and saw a sixth one siting by himself chewing on a stick. He walked up to the pup and he wagged his tail and sat up. Son sat down next to him and the pup did not jump on him and just leaned against him wanting to be pet. Son says, I want this one! Best choice ever, dog is mellow, very obedient, doesn't get into things, has never jumped up on anyone. Turning out to be a very good dog. Son brings him everywhere, rides in the ruck with him, on tractors, combines, etc. Dog is like a person.

Unfortunately his fiancé's dog is a spastic but it hasn't rubbed of on him after a year of them being together. Her dog is actually becoming more mellow, so that is a good thing.
