Can someone remind me of which pistol smith offers the accuracy package for the Ruger Single Six? Thought it was Clements but did not see it on his web page. Like most, mine likes mags over LR and I would like to make it a shooter. Thanks

Or send it to Alan Harton. He turned my lead thrower into a real shooter for not a whole lotta money.

I'm curious how you make a convertible shoot both mags and long rifles good with their different bore sizes.

I sent mine to Clements for his accurizing package. For about 160, he made it a great shooter with the 22LR ammo. I have not tried the Mag cylinder since it came back. I wanted a fun plinker gun that didn't have the problems my Single Six had before it was worked on. What did Clements do? He reamed out the cylinder(before after a few rounds I couldn't get the ammo to load). He crowned the barrel, recut the forcing cone and installed an oversized base pin. I think it was money well spent.

You might give Paco Kelly's accurizer tool a try....it would seem the only logical answer to me, though I have not tried the tool personally. It bumps the 22 LR bullets up to a little fatter diameter to fit the larger bore of the Single Six (which I am told is reamed/rifled for the larger 22 mag. jacketed bullets). I have no dog in the fight, other than I've been treated very well by Paco Kelly. Fellas over on Leverguns have tried them and you might get some good input over there.
Edit: I think there are a couple of brands of 22 lr ammo which have bullets which tend to run larger, but can't bring them up in my pee brain. Maybe Aquila? Might be worth a try as well if you want a little boost in accuracy with the smaller round.

I've had the best luck with Winchesters 22WRF ammo in my Single Sixes shooting it in the magnum cylinder. I have been thinking of getting an extra 22LR cylinder and rechambering for 22WRF and see what kind of results that will bring just for the fun project. I havent tried the accurizer tool but I have it on my to do list. Problem now is that the to do list is on a computer and it's to easy for the wife to insert new items for me to do in front of the ones I have listed.

The accurizer tool works like a champ! I use a inline seater die with mine to uniform the ammunition as much as possible.

I got frustrated with mine a couple of years back. Ended-up making a new cylinder and installing a piece of Shilen barrel. Even groups well with cheap Thunderbolts. -Lee www.singleactions.com
