Likes, dislikes? The good and not so much. I’ve never seen one in person, but they look to be light weight. I would think that recoil would be lively. Am I wrong?

DAMN FINE GUNS, I SHOT A 140" CLASS WHITETAIL WITH A 356 WINCHESTER BARRELED RPM XL AND 200gr FACTORY AMMO THIS PAST DEER SEASON. WITH THE MUZZLE BRAKES I HAVE ON MY 308, 356 AND 376 STEYR 14" BARRELS (PLUS THE MUZZLE BRAKES) RECOIL IS NOT AN ISSUE. WILL TRY TO POST SOME PICTURES.

Mr Garza, or anyone else that knows, how would you compare the weight to that of a contender?

I love hearing about them and was procrastinating about ordering one back when they were still being made because if i remember right they wanted i think 1200 for the gripframe then you had at least around 400ish for a barrel plus the fact i was priveleged to be born a lefty so that added another 50 and so with at least 2 barrels at the time that was a big chunk for a gun i wpuld never be able to handle till i spent all that money and i was scared to take that leap, now i wish i would have because unless its somehow brought back ill never get that chance again smh

I HAVE BEEN THINNING THE HERD, IN THE HERD I HAVE 2 RPM XL FRAMES, ONE FOR 308 AND 356 BARRLES, AND ONE FOR 376 STEYR AND 357 MAG BARRELS. I DO NOT WANT TO THIN OUT BOTH, JUST CANNOT DECIDE WHICH TO KEEP. ONE OF THE FRAMES HAS A 454 BARREL FITTED TO IT BUT THE CHAMBER IS SLOPPY SO I DON'T USE IT, BUT HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT IN MAY BE A CANDIDATE FOR A RECHAMBER BY GARY REEDER TO, IIRC, A .452 CALIBER BASED ON A 475 CASE.

linkRPM XL FRAME No. 1069 WITH 15" (OAL) 356 WINCHESTER BARREL ON THE FRAME, 4x LEUPOLD AND BURRIS RINGS, 13" 454 BARREL, and 15" (OAL) 308 BARREL WITH 4X LEUPOLD AND TALLEY RINGS, ALL 3 BARRELS NUMBERED TO THE FRAME. I HAVE KILLED A LOT OF DEER WITH BOTH THE 356 AND 308 BARRELS. I SENT THE FRAME BACK TO JIM ROCK FOR FITTING OF THE 308 BARREL AND WHEN IT CAME BACK THE 356 BARREL WOULD NOT FULLY COCK THE GUN, CURED THE PROBLEM WITH A THIN METAL SHIM CUT FROM A COKE CAN OR SOMETHING, LIKE MANY THINGS METAL SOMETIMES A C... HAIR OR 2 IN WIDTH MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.

The weight of the RPM XL resides heavily in the grip. It is not barrel heavy. Mine has a braked 12" .356 Win barrel and a 15" .30 Merrill barrel. That .30M barrel is magnificent.

I campaigned a 7mm Merril for a short time when I shot Silhouette competitively. While it was very accurate, I could not abide the thumb safety and weak extractor.

Then XL fixed that weak extractor problem.
