Hi there, just got myself a USFA Rodeo in .44 special this weekend. Was looking at two other rodeo's in .38, both looked unfired, and then happened to see the .44. Checked it out and it was mint and the man behind the counter said that he didn't think the prior owner fired it at all. Price was well under $500. Shot home to bring in a CZ 75 for trade and walked out a happy customer. The only downside is no stores around had any .44 special ammo. Looks like I'll have to get my press going.
I've been looking to get a USFA Rodeo for years since I heard they are great guns and they are made in the city of my birth, but never had the chance.

Yeah, boy. I like CZ-75s, but a .44 Special Rodeo for under $500 is a deal. You will like it!
Welcome!

Been hooked on USFA and the value of Rodeos, since I first picked one up at my gunsmith's counter and felt how crisp and solid was the action.
A friend from Jim Taylor's old sixshooter board and I, ordered them pronto. Low three digit "B" serial numbers. He's a life long Colt expert and presently moderates a board. So, when we got together, did some shooting, there was a least one informed opinion present. First rate.
Still have mine, well worn, that lives in a holster. I have no doubt that you will find that .44 to be a keeper, and that you will eventually find that just one USFA is not enough. I recommend the 'Storekeeper's" shorty model as an engaging second gun. After that, a long-bbl'd plate-banger would be fun.
Stoke that baby up, and shoot away. PS: USFA has a forum on their website, that is sorta slow moving. But y'r impressions of the gun would be welcome there.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'll ask my wife to take some pictures of it since she's the best one with the camera.
Thank you for the USFA board link. I signed up and will post soon.
I guess I'm at a point where I want quality of shooting, not so much quantity.
I have a Hornady reloading press that my wife gifted to me for Christmas a while back, but have not gotten around to using it. Is the .44 special a difficult caliber for a beginner to learn?

No more than any other caliber. One of the most important parts in reloading is reading. Read about how to do it, get more than one reloading book, always be careful, and don't try to overdue with that round. It is a great caliber/round and fun to shoot. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask people, then read some more to check what they told you. BTW, very jealous of your find.
