Thats another itch scratched. Got packages in the mail already from Midway Dies brass bullets and a box of factory ammo. From an outfit called at the front. Sling and oiler. They make hi quality repro stuff for military guns and knives' The rifle It is nicer than I thought it was. I need to stay out of Cabela's. I almost bought another rifle. They had a used but not abused Remington Mountain rifle in 270 for 500.00. I can't buy a gun every 2 weeks and ever hope to retire! Need to buy some small rifle primers and put together some rounds for the 4th!...tj

I gather you picked up an M1 Carbine?
Is it a modern version or one from WWII?
Mine was built by Inland during the last quarter of 1944. USGI magazines are most "preferred" followed by KCI's.

About 13 years back my friends father passed. My friend asked me to sell his father's colletion since i'm an FFL. The father, having owned a firearm wholesale company had exquisite taste in firearms; some somewhat unique or of fine quality. Upon receiving the collection I immediately spied a minty 1943 Inland with a paratrooper stock. I sold the entire collection except the carbine. It looked unfired and in excellent shape. Thinking I had come into a rare gem I posted pics on an M1 Carbine forum and was quickly schooled by the resident experts. Fired yes! Fired since the post WWII refurbishing of all M1 carbines; NO!!!! In addition, the paratrooper stock was a modern replica. Oh, well, it still shoots exceptionally well....
