Good Day all - First post on here. I've just purchased my first SAA Colt Clone revolver - a Cimarron Frontier (Made by Pietta) in Stainless Steel. Haven't shot the gun yet, but the quality & action seems very good. The only thing that was difficult, was the Base Pin. I've got it working good now after some sanding and polishing. Where do I find out about these New Base Pins?

Hello everyone this is my first post on this site. Interested in purchasing a Keith style #5 base pin for my newly purchased Pietta Great Western II. It has both a 357/38 spl cylinder and a 9 MM cylinder. The original pin is extremely difficult to remove or install. Can anyone point me in the right direction..Jack

Wow, I really could use a better base pin in my newer Standard Manufacturing SAA.. only one range session so far, but the base pin is jumping forward under recoil.
I've considered installing a stronger spring in the base pin retention "system" (ha, the nomenclature escaping me as I type this) but a better base pin would be super!
Forgive my ignorance, but are folks emailing Kelye directly and/or is Belt Mountain a whole separate entity? (I've had Belt Mt base pin in an older Ruger Vaquero, if I recall)
EDITED TO ADD: Duh, duh, duh... I just noticed a page 2 of this thread and I think my question was answered! email will be inbound, thanks!

I don't have a micrometer to measure, but.. will do some research and see if Standard Manufacturing has specifications available? Or better yet, will get over to my local gunsmith and take some measurements. Thanks for checking in!

Kelye My gunsmith measured the base pin from my Standard SAA today and tells me that it is .247. I saw him measure in three places, so I'm hoping that .247 is an accurate measurement.

Is the pin loose in the gun? I'd definitely pin gauge that frame and cylinder... Faced the same problem with my Colt NF...

The pin on my Pietta is.25 in diameter and 85.8 in length. I would like to replace it with a #5 style. Everyone tells me it’s only available for Ruger or Colt. This Pietta is supposed to be very similar to a second generation Colt. Jack

So, definitely available for other guns.
