I have been having trouble locating a base for the old Thompson center arms 2.5 scope with the built in under rail lug. There is a good image of one in post #259. I am familiar with all of the Weaver type, not what I am looking for. Is there a part #, or common name ?

Are the Bushnell Phantom scopes/mounts the same setup (he asked, now that his brain is mushy and can't remember anything)?
Edit to add: Lobo scope mount? (Google is helping me cheat) Maybe not? Might be the same as the Phantom but not necessarily the same as T/C? I dunno....

Thompson/Cenetr Arms marketed a scope, or scopes, with a rail integral to the tube. The scope slides into claw-type base which screws to the barrel via holes drilled & tapped for the front sight. The base was investment cast at the Thompson Tool foundry in Rochester.New Hampshire (tight to the Maine border). To my knowledge the scopes were made in Japan with the T/C logo. By which optics plant I don’t know. Bushnell might be a good guess, as it had build at scope with integral rail. The concept may date to Germany around dawn of the 20th Century.
I would trust none of these scopes to challenge consistency of the Leupold 2x EER (Extended Eye Relief). David Bradshaw

Thompson Center called those scopes "Lobo Scopes". Go on Ebay and type in Lobo Scope. All sorts of mounts come up, as they made mounts to put those railed scopes on several different guns. I believe the rail is the same as the Bushnell but I'm not absolutely certain.

Well, actually TC marketed "Lobo" and "Recoil Proof (RP)" scopes. The RP was a little more sophisticated and tougher than the Lobos. I no longer recall whether the same rail mount works for both, but I BELIEVE that it does. That would be the one shown in the photo above. The 2.5 power scope that the OP describes would be an RP. The Lobos were CLAIMED 1-1/2X and 3X, though actually a bit less. You might try contacting Art Lamontagne at the Thompson Center Association for guidance on the proper rail mount, and confirm if it works for both.
