I am having poor luck coming up with a usable Hunter grip frame for my .50 Spl project, so have decided maybe it's time to replace my .500 Redhawks I let go with one exactly the way I want it. I'd actually decided I'd just switch the .50 Spl project to a rebored Anaconda barrel on a Redhawk, but Bowen doesn't have a source for .50 cal rebores anymore, so looking at plan C, unless someone knows where to get the rebore done... I've always liked this stock Redhawk with a 4" SP style barrel, and wonder if others on here have had 5 shot conversions done with the SP barrel? If so I'd love to see some pics.

Id like to see more pictures of your handgun! This one in the pic isn't mine. It's the first stock Redhawk Bowen did a barrel job on without being part of a full build. Pricey, but awesome, and no need to do more when sticking with a .45 Colt. I think it's a 4". I'm trying to decide between an SP101 style barrel like it and an L Frame in .500, and also still trying to decide for sure on barrel length. I will try to get some pics of the two I had and let go back on here.

Here's a couple more pics for ya Trey. These are the two Bowen .500 Redhawks I had, both bought off the used market. The blue 4 3/4 L frame barrel gun I got online, and used for a few years before letting go to a friend who was a perfect fit to those Sambar grips that are too thin for me. If I buy it back someday when he's done with it I'll have a liner put under them to fit me. The 5" ported stainless SP barrel gun came off the Ruger Forum from Tom Casselman. He said Hamilton had put it together for some TV thing, then sold it when he was through playing with it. It had an unfinished set of walnut grips on it when I got it. I sent some Gabon ebony to Roy for it, and somehow it came home with musk ox! I'm not a fan of porting on anything, but I figured this was the way I could run the 525 LFNGC full tilt chock full of H110 and control it rather than just knocking myself out. Bowen's expansion chamber tamed that round right down, but unfortunately that bullet is too long for the expansion chamber even at max speed with H110, so just couldn't quite get it clear of the muzzle end before it came up and tipped the back end of the bullet. Lil Gun might've speeded it up just enough, but a couple guys I trusted told me not to use that powder in my good revolvers. It shoots the other stuff great, but I had plenty of non ported guns that did that just as well, and looked better doing it IMHO. I'd love to see what that barrel would look like at 4 3/4", no porting, and the cylinder fluted and chamfered, but for now sticking with the original plan to just remake the blue L frame one in stainless.
