I LIKE TO PICK VINTAGE HOLSTERS, MOSTLY OFF OF EBAY, A MALADY SIMILAR TO gunitis. JUST RECEIVED A SCARCE AND GOOD CONDITION LAWRENCE 130F, SIZE AN 8 OVER A 5. A S&W 4th CHANGE 1905 32-20 5" REVOLVER, A COLT 5" ARMY SPECIAL IN 32-20 AND A COLT 5" OFFICIAL POLICE IN 32-20 ALL FIT IN THE HOLSTER BUT "I think" IT IS PROBABLY PRIMARILY FOR THE LARGER FRAMED COLT ARMY SPECIAL/OFFICIAL POLICE THAN THE SMALLER FRAMED S&W 1905 4th CHANGE. THESE 32-20 REVOLVERS WITH 5" BARRELS THEMSELVES ARE IN THE UNCOMMON TO VERY RARE CATEGORY. AFTER THE PICTURE TAKING I APPLIED PLENTY OF PECARD's ANTIQUE LEATHER DRESSING TO THE HOLSTER. HERE IS A PICTURE OF THE HOLSTER AND THE 3 REVOLVERS, THE S&W IS HOLSTERED, THE TOP COLT IS THE ARMY SPECIAL AND THE BOTTOM IS THE OFFICIAL POLICE: link

Nice guns and leather. Rey could open his own gun museum.

THE 2 COLT's DATE TO THE 1920's, THE S&W IS PRE-WAR, DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE HOLSTER. 32-20 COLT OFFICIAL POLICE REVOLVERS ARE AMONG MY FAVORITES.

Being addicted to carved holsters is far more insidious than being addicted to guns. Cuz you never see it coming. Pictures like that don't help me control it either! A Jockstrap like that is seldom seen around here. After Rey helped me get mine going a 32-20 Colt Army Spl./Official Police has also become a favorite for me. A much stouter gun that the K frame S&Ws. To join the party this is a 38 spl. Official Police in an odd Hunter holster I found.

needsmostuff: WHEN I FIND A CARVED OR SORT'a FANCY HUNTER HOLSTER I JUST ASSUME A ROGUE EMPLOYEE SNUCK IT INTO THE LINE DURING A MID-NIGHT SHIFT.

I HAVE A COPY OF THAT STICKY I GOT OFF THE S&W FORUM. AT SOME POINT (I BELIEVE AFTER) LAWRENCE CHANGED THEIR SIZE/GUN FIT NUMBERING SYSTEM, e.g. THE JOCKSTRAP IN THE OP SIZE/GUN FIT IS SHOWN WITH AN 8 OVER A 5.

Nice collection, VERY nice!
Your Army Special is much nicer than mine. However, mine spent 20 of the 35 years I've owned it riding a tractor or combine in a Bianchi shoulder holster or in a canoe in a belt holster running a trap line. Mine is also in 32-20, one of my two, absolute favorite cartridges. I have revolvers I like better but none that elicits more memories.

AS FAR AS I KNOW COLT AND S&W NEVER RESUMED MAKING DA 32-20 REVOLVERS AFTER WWII, ALTHOUGH "I think" COLT THOUGHT ABOUT IT AS THEY MADE A RUN OF 5" POST WAR STYLE OFFICIAL POLICE BARRELS IN 32-20. IN THE ARMY SPECIAL THE 32-20 WAS A FAIRLY COMMON CHAMBERING, MAYBE 30%, THE REST BEING 38 SPECIAL AND A FEW 41 COLTS. WHEN COLT UPGRADED THE ARMY SPECIAL (IN 1926), AND WENT AFTER THE POLICE MARKET, THEY CHANGED THE NAME TO "OFFICIAL POLICE" AND DEDICATED MOST ALL OF THE PRODUCTION TO 38 SPECIAL WITH ONLY A SPATTERING OF 32-20's, AND MOSTLY IN 6" BARREL LENGTHS, 4" AND 5" BEING ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. I HAVE SEVERAL OP 32-20's IN 6" AND HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO ACQUIRE A 4" AND A 5" COLT OP IN 32-20. ONE COULD SPEND YEARS TRYING TO GET A 4", 5" & 6" COLT OFFICIAL POLICE IN 32-20. I HAVE OFTEN THOUGHT THAT THE 32-20 REVOLVER IN THE PRE-WAR DAYS WAS PROBABLY POPULAR WITH RANCHERS, FARMERS, OUTDOORSMEN AND TRAPPERS, AND SOME WERE CARRIED BY LEO's AS THEIR DUTY GUN. MY FAVORITE LOAD FOR MY COLT OFFICIAL POLICE REVOLVERS IS A 115gr RNFP @ AROUND 1,068fps IN A 6" BARREL.

I too am a big fan of vintage Lawrence holsters. Here are a couple of lined holsters I picked up recently in like new condition. One for a 7 1/2" SAA (508) another for a 4 1/2" Woodsman Match Target (514). I had been looking for a 514 for many years~ I much prefer lined holsters and Lawrence offered that option.
