It is quit e a rifle. It will be next weekend before i get to try it out. But I am putting together a load to break it in with. 22.5 Grains of H-110 under a 240 grain XTP. Bobby did a great job on the CCH. Monday I will order a rear sight from skinner. And will soon have a leather Cartridge cuff on the butt. 3 The Color case is really nice, the bluing is I think actually black oxide. Looks fine to me and should hold up well. The stocks could be better, pretty plain wood and probably would be fine on a standard looking rifle. Fitted well enough. Action is butter smooth and the trigger is amazing. Going to need to get used to no half cock, but it really does not need one. It has a hammer block like a revolver and no external safety. So, it is safe to carry hammer down on a loaded chamber. Repeat going to need to get used to that!... The factory front sight has a nice gold bead, And the rear has a white diamond, I think if the light is good, it will work great. But I expect vertical stringing under anything but bright sunshine. I will update after I have slayed a few pop cans and vanquished a watermelon or two. ...tj

That's great TJ, you will like that Skinner sight, I have one on my Henry 45 Colt, I swapped out the brass bead for a fiber optic, and it's a great combo for me

I use the same loads that I use in my Blackhawks, including Ruger only with a good dose of #9, which is very accurate in that rifle

I sure wish Marlin or Henry would build a .454 lever gun. I might well end up with something in 45 LC, one day. too. Skinner has a rear sight color cased and that will look great on my carbine. I wonder if it will be combatable with my front gold bead...tj
