I handled a Rossi R95 at a local store and it felt pretty good action wise. I have a Burris Scout scope that I ordered a while back for another project that I sold before its arrival. Since I will have the scope and can’t stop the addiction I am thinking about the Rossi R95 Triple Black to put it on. I think the .30-30 will have light enough recoil for my shoulder problems and be fun to play with. Have any of you tried the R95s yet? The reviews look good from what I have seen rossiusa.com/rifles/lever-action-rifles/401-r95-lever-action-triple-black-30-30-mag

I have a friend that jump right on them when they came out, and he says he loves it and that it shoots his Barnes loads awesome. He took a few deer with it last year already.
He ended up ordering a 45-70 one as well and has had nothing but good to say about that as well.

I have not gotten to handle one, but I sure like the looks of the 20" model.
I bought a new Rossi revolver a few months back and it is seriously one of the nicest revolvers Ive owned and a big step up from anything else I've seen on the shelves in recent years.

But never again will my dollars flow to that company again for a new gun. There are other options out there and I will find them. New improved customer service in GA.? Balderdash!

I don't know how their current CS is, but I have not read good things in quantity. Read a couple good experiences recently and the lady I spoke with about the possibility of buying spare parts, specifically a small (TINY) spring in the RP63, was very pleasant, easy to understand and was willing to send me a part, until she found that it's not available as a part. This is not encouraging.
This is a shame, because from what I can see, whet they are making today is really nice stuff. I'm very pleased with the RP63, still want to replace my old 92 in 357 and if I had a need or use for a larger lever, I'd be all over that new R95.
I have contemplated selling an essentially new 3" LCRX in 38 and replacing it with a second RP63, but I'm not sure I want to hang that much out there with their CS reputation. Charter Arms (sorry, that again) is so easy to deal with if you need a part. Last time I needed some rear sight screws and they wouldn't even let me pay for them. First time I ever had to send one of their guns back (integral front sight was too low), they sent me a shipping label and covered the return cost as well.
I think if Rossi could fix their CS reputation, they'd be THE gun to buy today.

How recent is your experience? Are they older 92s or more recent ones?
Not questioning your assertion, but wondering if there has been ANY improvement since the retool a few years ago.

I wanted to remove the screw that holds the mag tube cap in. It was stuck solid. They said if I sent it in it would take 3 months. I asked can you send me a replacement screw so I could drill it out? No they will not, it is not a part they want me removing. Found one on E bay. Drilled the screw out cut the mag spring down a little. Much better to load now. This was less than 2 years ago...tj
