Brought the BHA 500L home, wanted to function check it as a few in the past have not cycled well. I loaded to dummy rounds in thru loading gate and cycled the lever, the round came half out of the mag tube and stopped. There is a triangle shaped tit on the inside of the loading gate, the cartridge when released from mag tube hits that tit and stops. I tried multiple times with dummies and went outside and tried factory ammo, same result. I presume that tit is to prevent shells from going back when loading. All my other BHA's have it as well but the cartridge goes past it. I then tried dropping a round in from the top onto the lift and cycling it, wedges every time between lift and top of chamber. BHA had me send pics and videos.
Very disappointing to wait so long and spend that kinda money to have to return for warranty work the next day.

Can you compare that tit with the other rifles you have and see if there is a difference? Mayb little polishing?

I did compare them, they look the same. I'm wondering if there's a difference between the 500L and 500sw loading gates and the smith installed the wrong one. That however does not fix the failure to feed issues. I don't believe anyone did a function check with ammo, there's no way you could have missed that.

That sux, kinda takes all the excitement of getting it and craps on it. I feel for ya, having been there on more than one occasion with other custom work.

Well sir, the rim diameter on the 500 L is .610 and on the 500 S&W it's .526. Also on the 500 L the rim is thicker. Since yours is a 500 L try a 500 S&W dummy round in your rifle. Let us know.

That's a shame. I know you are going to send it back and give them hell for letting it get out of their plant like that. I hope you get it repaired in a timely manner and you never have another problem with it.
