Gun started life as a BFR Custom Shop gun in 500 JRH with 5.5 octagon barrel, 2/1,000ths inch cylinder gap, black nitrided trigger and black nitrided bisley hammer, stock rubber grips. I sent the gun to Jack R. Huntington and he just finished working on it. He machined the factory scope base to fit (abut) the top strap and octagon barrel, anodised it black, mounted the Ultradot Gen II 30mm tube silver color, stretched the grip frame and installed black and white ebony panels I sent him from a $214 board ( 15/16 inch thick, 5.5 inches wide, and 26 inches long) I bought then I had it cut into pistol grip panels with a bandsaw. Yes, the black and white ebony boards are expensive, and mine was priced in the middle. Jack then rounded out the rear part of the trigger guard that comes more squared off from Mag Research. Then he gave the trigger a 1.5 pound pull. I can't wait to shoot it. Before and after Jack's touch of excellence pics below:

Ebony grips are among my favorites, and those are especially nice.

Thanks!!
The B&W Ebony board was about $214, and it was 26 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, and 13/16 inch thick. It was painful to watch it be planed down to .600 inch. Expensive sawdust!!! Panels for pistol grips are typically .500 inch thick, but I have large hands, so I made mine .600 inch just in case. I am a little hesitant to say what the sawmill company charged me to cut the board into usable pistol grip panels, but I did get enough for 2 sets of pistol grips. On the second set, the black lines are going straight up and down, not slightly angled to match the grip frame angle; however, they could easily be tilted to do so during shaping and installation.

I'd pull the front sight off it if there's no rear sight any longer. No reason to put wear on the bluing- this is assuming it is a screw on sight.
I think without a front sight that'd be maybe the nicest looking BFR I've seen.

Nice! Almost makes me want a BFR.......almost. Shoot one once and it won't be an "almost".

I wonder if he rebends the trigger guard or welds it up for reshaping

I am not sure. I will have to ask Jack how he worked his magic on the trigger guard.

That will be a great hunting gun, should take care of anything south of a t-rex. I really like those grips.
