I put together some loads with a 240 grain XTP over 11.3 grains of Longshot. I expect to hit 1050 to 1100 fps. I think that bullet weight and velocity should be great for a GP load. No cream puff recoil wise but potent enough to do anything I need it to. I would use it in my Sorter barreled guns mostly. I will be trying it out tomorrow. ...tj

I load Longshot in my 44 with a 250 grain cast hollow point for 1263 fps. I also use it in my 41 magnum.

Agreed, Longshot is an excellent powder, and works very well, in the 44, and 41 magnums, your 11.2 gr load is a good one

I shoot 10gr under a 240gr plated fp as a range load. I use a lot of Longshot, 44, 41, 460Rowland, 10mm and 480ruger.

Longshot is a great choice is a lot of hand gun calibers, I use it in 32 magnum, 327 & everything up the line.

I found Longshot to be excellent with the lighter bullets. 14.0 gr under the 180 XTP produced 1475 ft/second and tremendous accuracy in my 629-4 Classic 6½".

I’m going to look into this load a little more but it sounds perfect for my NM Flattop 50th Anniversary 44 mag Blackhawk.
