Forum Members...........pardon me! Being a new "photobucket" user, and after deleting the photos of the Abeline from "photobucket", I automatically (but unintentionally) deleted them from the thread. I intentionally deleted my comments from the original thread now that the photos were gone, so I'll try to re utter some of my original thoughts once again. I purchased the US Arms "Abeline" in the late 70's, early 80's, with the following configuration: .44 mag, 7.5 bbl, Magnaloy (brushed chrome) finish, (mostly offered in blue), and with an anvil hammer, allowing one to carry it safely with all 6 chambers loaded. After shooting a few rounds thru her, I basically cleaned and oiled it thoroughly with Ballistol, inside and out, and put her away. She's been stored in a safe I have some 3 hrs north of my residence, and other than check it and other firearms for corrosion, haven't taken her for a spin in 30 years. Encouraged by a very informative and thoroughly researched article on the US Arms Abeline/Seville by Lee Martin, I decided to bring her home a couple weeks ago. After rubbing it clean and removing any remnants of oil residue, I was extremely impressed at how beautifully preserved she is. Not a whole lot different than when I took her out of the box for the 1st time. I've got 1/2 box of .44 special ammo that I'm going to put through her when I go up to the cabin on June Lake in a couple 3 weeks. Anyway "photobucket", I think I've finally got you conquered.Shadow[

I really like the box it came in. I don't think I've ever seen one before - it looks like an old crate.
Oh and your sixgun looks pretty darn good too.

That is really nice....nothing like getting a fine gun, no longer made, in "like new" condition. I have one that my brother bought new about 1979(blued) and love it.

CD ....... thanks for the reply ! Looks like a nice 7.5"er. The factory "bluing" on the "Abeline's" were extremely nice. The blue on your 30 year old sixgun still looks very good, and is a testament to how well they finished their guns back then! Shadow

Thank you Shadow. The bluing on these is really stunning. The only wear is from going in and out of a buscadero rig that my brother bought with the gun. It was transported alot but may have been fired a dozen times. Alan Harton suggested that the turn line was from a broken trigger return spring, and he fixed that...a common problem. So yeah...they are very well done and finely fitted. Still love my Rugers, but I consider this a cut above. PS: still kind of newbie here myself but WELCOME!
