They are a "must have" on an 5.56 AR don't you know?! At least a bunch of guys at my club seem to think so.

I just received a StealthBlast SMD (Sound Mitigation Device) from Deer Creek Arms (a Glenrock Wyoming, USA Business). I haven't had a chance to test it out yet because I'm waiting for new bottom metal to arrive, but DCA's customer service is excellent and the video showcasing the brake on their website definitely shows promise.
Just a USA made option to look at.

That's a pretty cool product for a little over a hundred bucks.

That looks interesting but im wondering how much slick hollywood magic was involved there? Tje only video i seen was a guy shooting a 223 in the middle of nowhere with a good wind blowing and no mention of what kind of load he was shooting. Definitely no expert but i think id bet money he was shooting subsonic because ive never heard a suppressor hold anything supersonic that quiet.

He does make a reference at the beginning of the video that sound doesn't translate well to video. I would imagine if you sent a question they'd reply.

It's essential to emphasize that the StealthBlast SMD is not a suppressor or silencer under the law. It is a muzzle device designed to improve shooter comfort without altering the legal classification of the firearm. It is not considered a registered item and does not require any special licensing or permits for purchase or use.

Keep a copy of the ATF ruling handy and be prepared for someone stopping by to collect it at some future date.
Other than that it is indeed very interesting.

A "linear compensator", but in two pieces . Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if some day the feds said "If you weld the holes up, you have a suppressor" (a really really small, crappy one).
