Picked the rifle up today. The scope is nice but it is HUGE and weighs a ton so it is definitely the wrong scope for this gun. When I took it off it is nice and light. It has a 1:7 twist so the longer bullets should do fine, the magazine should be able to seat the bullets out so I might try some of the 110 or 115 gr Hammer Hunters. I'm surprised it has a 1:7 twist, but that's great news for you. You can shoot any weight bullet you can fit in it. What brand scope is it that it's that heavy? |

Depending on the range you plan to hunt with that nice classy 250, Id say a nice 1” scope like the Leupold Freedom line would fit right in….maybe some Talley one piece ring/base set….to keep the weight at a minimum.
I have a 3-9x40 Leupold Freedom (of some flavor) on a No.1 in 7x57 that hits reliably at 400yds…..likely further, I just haven’t had access to anything further

I just traded the Hubble Telescope for a sleek Zeiss Conquest 2.5x8 scope. I used steel Leupold low dual dovetail mounts and it looks good and lightened it up considerably
