Just went onto the Montana Bullet Works site to get some 400 LBT bullets for the .50 Spl project, and see they go straight from a 350 to a 420. I have no experience with the .50 Spl so not sure if the 420 is over doin it in that case or not. I used to have a pile of 405 LFN or LFNGC but shot em up. Anybody know where to buy 400 grain LFN now?

The only other thing I could find was Hunter's Supply offers a 420gn with their slick coat bullet lube. www.hunters-supply.com/511-500-linb-420-p-2864.htmlRimrock has heavier options. The MBW 350 isn't a bad looking bullet and might work great in the 50 special.

Brian,
Stay light as you’ll use up all your powder capacity with the heavier bullets and change any load data you may start with significantly. If you want a .500 Linebaugh, buy one but that’s not what a .50 Special was meant for. Plenty of power with a 350 at 800-900 fps.
I got ‘Blind Pig Lucky” and found an older NEI mold a couple months ago for the 350gr round nose bullet Ben Forkin designed for the .50 special when he and Hamilton first started building them. I even got him to send me one of the original bullets to check and yep…it’s the one. Thinking that bullet isn’t worth a damn for hunting but it’s very accurate and old school cool.
