I didn't get home until 11:30 pm and to bed by midnight. The office was closed Thursday and I teleworked today. Quite the experience! www.fox13news.com/news/suspicious-items-found-inside-car-after-man-takes-his-own-life-bomb-squad-investigates-tampa-policeWe evacuated out the back, away from the blast zone. Word is, the disgruntled engineer had a pressure cooker type bomb on a timer. He called in his intentions and the front desk guy kept him on the phone while a facilities maintenance man called 911. The cops got there, surrounded his suv and he committed suicide in the vehicle. But we had to stay in the back, first in the 87-degree sun and later in a safe building with AC and water, while the police investigated and the bomb squad squared away the suspected bomb. People with vehicles in the back of the building got to leave around 9pm. My car was parked up front, so I didn't get my car back until Thursday afternoon when my wife took me to Tampa to retrieve it. Wednesday night, I was able to walk off the property and called my wife for a ride home. She was 32 miles away so I walked to a Circle K store about 2.2 miles away and she arrived a couple minutes after I got there. I am still tired! He had multiple handguns in the vehicle with plenty of ammo to hurt a lot of people. I'm a criminology major and have read FBI case studies and profiles about guys like this. They are usually done talking when they make the decision to attack innocents. I'm amazed he called in from the front doors to announce his threats. This could have gone real bad, real fast.

Just curious from the article... What are "high-powered magazines"?

Some people will do anything to get outta work ! The outcome, though sad, didn't come close to worst case scenario. Stay safe Doug !

Crazy Day. Just curious from the article... What are "high-powered magazines"? Most reports said high-capacity magazines. Either way, it's just more anti-gun tripe. We aren't allowed to carry in this state building. I'm arguing in favor of changing that rule. We were sitting ducks.
