The local hardware store has tons of .410 in stock…at $65 a box!! Everytime I go in there, they still have all their stock. I guess people really will draw the line somewhere on what they’ll spend. Sometimes I’ve wondered…

I load brass shells in .410 (others too) with a pistol primer, and a glue on over wad. Some 7 1/2, 4’s, buckshot, or slug. Easy to clean, easy to reload. And extremely cheap.

The cases/shells I have use pistol primers, but I’m sure just about any primer would work, there fairly low power loads

I have a Hornady 366 progressive for 410. It makes you smile every pull of the lever.

What brass do you use for your loads?

I ordered some .410 TSS turkey loads for someone a couple weeks ago. $75 for 10 shots (and that's without me making anything on the deal)

That TSS shot is pretty pricy all by itself!

They're actually cheap relatively speaking. Since you're not getting a lot of tungsten shot, they're not charging you a lot.
410 box of five was $35ish before shipping and all that. (sorta theoretical wholesale price) 12ga 3 1/2 were $64 for five.

Sure, its all relative. Both are cheap compared to some of the big nitro stuff. I've thought about getting a 410. Plenty of grouse around here to shoot at. Would be perfect for them. But I haven't seen ammo here in a while. Wouldn't be too much more to ship up a case or two on the barge to AK.

Fireformed some 9.3x74R brass and was just notified 4-24 that my 2.5 & 3" dies have shipped from C&H Dies. I have two 410 presses, a Spolar & a MEC8567 in 410 for 2.5" shells but you only get one good reload from them so for hunting, I switched to Brass.
