They gotta age, right ? Do any of you as rule, replace them at a certain date ? Not sure how to judge how much cush is left in the Bulldogs Compac Pachy's. Your thoughts ?

Well, darn. Only the 2 sets of Hogue's here, for the LCR a new. Maybe time to see if I can find a new set for the Bulldog ?

I was attempting to make a joke based upon the date code on tires.
If they're not dried out or softened by chemicals, they're probably fine.

Not soft, nor dried out I believe. Do seem harder. Am liking the Hogues I have for the LCR. Wonder if they have a C.A. Bulldog compatible set of grips.

I've got a few sets of old (40 yrs) Pachmayr grips. They are certainly harder and less grippy than when new.

Yeah, what I thought. With the rubbers that came on the Alaskan, and the ones on the LCR, I bought the longer ones for the LCR-X too, to judge by '85-'90's Pachy's seem rock hard too. So, see Hogues like come on the Alaskan are available for the Bulldog,, but 2 sizes ? All Charter Arms same/same for grips, so... but no pictures or explanation. A call to make I guess.

JM, sorry I missed your humor. I often lead with my sense of humor, yeah sometimes it misses. Can't read most of what's on a tire now, didn't know there are dates.
