Well thinking back at some of the buys I have had in #1 or #3 , I thought of how hiistory goes away with each sale or turn over, Point when took my first Mashburn in for work the smith had a #1 which had work done and was now one of the rare ? sharps. Family were thinking of just letting the smith have the gun. Who knows what had been planned, Another set of 5, I got 2 The family member had waited 3 years and was only keeping an engraved 458 dad's best he had taken to Africa a couple times. If builds of #1 grows less it would look as if that will be the only source. Have a nice day Don K.

Don, that's a pretty close assessment right now. But, I'll agree, the longer this drags on...
Outside of someone dying and their #1s getting sold, the market is dry.
Anyone who buys these fine rifles are not parting with them...

It's a shame.
Hang onto them if you have them.
Sad day to see the (once affordable) wonder of a single-shot possibly go away. They made it possible for regular folks to own a classic falling block.

Well: both of the CC #1s of the last month are the outcome of family member sales,
Sort of takes the edge off, I guess all you can do is treat them well, while you have them. Have a nice day Don K

That's about it, because they've already outlasted someone and will outlast us, possibly many generations to come as well. We're just sort of temporary car-takers of the finest ones.

This is a timely post as I just picked up two Ruger no 1’s and an 1885 Winchester/ browning at what I consider a steal of a deal. The shop was liquidating them for the family, after a passing. I sure wish I knew what happened to all the reloading components and supplies. From what I am receiving, I believe the gentleman was into long range shooting.
