I sold my 4” version and bought a 6” model. This is going to be set up to deer hunt. The plan is to send it to JRH and have him D&T it and mount either a Leupold 2x or 4x scope on it. I am going to have him rechamber a Model 48 cylinder to .327 Federal for giggles or since I am going to mess up the collector value by D&Ting it I could just rechamber the original cylinder. I will have him do an action job on it and I will carry it in one of Randy’s chest rigs

I was digging through some reloading stuff and found this in a box I had forgotten about. It should be perfect and will let me try a few different HP styles

And if that isn’t enough .32 cal goodness, I was perusing several dealer sites and came across a 632 Ultimate Carry in stock just under MSRP and ordered it! They only had one in stock or I might have ordered two!

Got the 16-4 yesterday and it looks great. I spoke to Jack and got the go ahead to send it to him along with the 22 mag cylinder and the scope mount. Might as well have him do an action job while he has it. We’ll see if he has to set the barrel back any for the b/c gap. Should make a heck of a deer gun! I am leaning towards the 4x Leupold but a 2x may work also. I guess it depends on what I can find. I have seen some ridiculous prices already on them

Here it is with a 617 .22 LR with a Bausch & Lomb 4x scope on a Weigand base. I decided to go with a Leupold dual dovetail base and a 4x Leupold instead. I think the Leupold mount looks a little cleaner

Just got her back and she is smooth as a baby’s bottom. Put the 4X Leupold in a Leupold Dual Dovetail mount

I need to see if Leupold made that mount in silver. It looks better to me than the Weigand on the 617

Well to answer my own question, yes that mount is available in silver. I had some checkered Olive Wood Ropers laying around and decided to switch out the Combats and put the Ropers on. It feels better to me and looks a lot better.

SO HOW HOT CAN YOU GO WITH THE 327 IN A K FRAME CYLINDER? I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT "TOO HOT" IN MY 7 SHOT GP100 NOR MY 6 SHOT MODEL 97 BUT WHAT ABOUT THE K FRAME CYLINDER?

Beautiful gun Ronnie, you're going to love it. My guess is the 100 gr HP will be too light for deer, might be wrong. I used a 135 gr GC'ed Ferminator HP on an antelope a few years ago out of my 8 shot Blackhawk & it worked great. If you think that might be too much bullet there's also a 116 gr GC HP that might work better for you. By going with the GC over the 100 gr plain base you can make the bullet just a tick harder & gain more penetration on your deer but still get expansion. Just a rookie opinion.

Dick Thanks Dick, Always enjoy good advice from those that have done it already. I may try these and see how they do. I do love a hardcast bullet doubletapammo.com/collections/327-federal-magnum/products/327-fed-mag-120gr-hardcast-solid-a-wfngc-20rds

Dick You got me thinking about the 100 gr bullet and you are probably right about the weight. I do prefer to go through bone when I can and the pigs around here occasionally get large. I think this one might work a little better. It would be a 115 gr HP and 121 gr solid. The .327 case should allow enough powder to get safe decent velocity. It should give me a good chance to play with the Garmin Xero also. www.mp-molds.com/product/10879/
