Nice find. I started down the No. 1 road in the 90's. Bought a .416 Rem Mag and the extremely rare .404 Jeffery. I had to stop after those. Liked them too much and could see my gun fund dwindling fast. -Lee www.singleactions.com "Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

There are much worse "bad habits" to have.
That specific example is a beauty and the No. 1, in general, is a marvel in that something like that is still available today.

I started collecting #1s in 1993 with the purchase of a 218 Bee. I've focused on rare calibers and currently have a safe devoted to them...

Just going to have to take some other path. ah. planning ,planning. Have a nice day Don K

Hahahaha, they “grow” on you! My first one was an RSI in 7x57.....that has morfed into 475L, 45-70, and a long barreled 7x57 with a long throat (B barrel profile! 24-26”). I like em all! They are a classic elegance!

Well i have a best one at the current time a hornet converted to a 218 Mashburn bee with a 1 in 10 twist, It was an very, very good shooter in hornet has a canjar trigger I really worried about using such a good one as a doner but I am so pleased with the outcome that I have another one underway with a 1 in 8 and a bit more length. I hope that comes out near as good. Have a nice day Don K.

They are addicting. I have 30-30 win., 45-70, and 405 win. Love to have a small caliber one.

That they are, I run from hornet to 45-70, I think I'll stick to my Mashburns and play in that area, its not just the #1 or #3 that burnup budget, its if your a reloader, It's brass ,dies, bullet stock, scopes, all the little things that go with it. But if it is interesting and you have the itch, look out, just buy another safe. Have a nice day Don K.

I have had four Ruger #1's. First was a 300 Win. Mag, second was a 22-250, third was a 375 H&H Tropical and the one I sold last summer was a 450/400 NE. I do like them a lot. The thing is there's other rifles I'd rather have...unfortunately my pockets aren't deep enough to have and keep all the firearms "I like a lot".

My first No. 1 was in 375 H&H and kicked so hard that I just figured the stock didn't work for me and I never bought another. They do look great, but I like to shoot 'em.
